The SNAREWEIGHT M1B Drum Tone Damper is pretty awesome because they not only look great but they also perform. You can set a level of dampening to your liking by moving the flaps around or lifting the unit completely.

The M1b is engineered to control the resonance without sacrificing the brightness of the drum. One M1b has 4 different dampening settings: very light, light, medium damping, to off. Try two M1’s on the same drum for more options and control. Remember the M1 fits any size drum;(8",9,10,12,13,14,16,18, etc.) Dampen in a snap or disengage even faster with the on/off feature. Works with triple flange hoops, die cast, angel hoops, true hoops.

Just a quick note to let you know I received the package this past Saturday afternoon as anticipated.

I am left nearly speechless as to the M1b's and M80's...they offer precisely what I had hoped for with regards to overtone control and will simultaneously liberate me all of the problems that I have experienced over the years using O-rings and/or gel products.

Your attention to making the M1b and M80 adjustable in size is one of their main attributes for sure. I was so delighted to find that when the M1b, with both ends folded towards the center, allowed plenty of playing surface available on my 6" tom and still offered just the right amount of sound control. Additionally, their secure fit to the rims leaves me no doubt that they will remain firmly in place during performance.

Cosmetically, they are quite appealing too!

I'll look forward to experimenting with the Cuts model on both the batter and resonant side of the drum as you suggested. I'm curious as to what potential they might hold there.

As a whole, these are incredibly well-crafted products certain to offer percussionists of all musical stripes many options to fine tune and improve their sound.
